At Bowman Academy, we pride ourselves on building strong, positive relationships with our local community. We are committed to working in partnership with local businesses and employers to support our careers programme and to create meaningful opportunities for our pupils.
Employer engagement plays a vital role in helping our young people gain real-life insight into the world of work and develop the skills, confidence and understanding needed for future pathways. Through workplace visits, employer talks, careers events and work-related experiences, pupils are able to experience life beyond the classroom and engage with the local community in a purposeful and supportive way.

Local employers play a vital role in helping our pupils understand the world of work and develop confidence, skills and aspirations for the future. There are many ways businesses can support our school, including:
Sharing Experience and Insight
– Delivering inspiring talks about your industry, job roles and career journey
– Taking part in question-and-answer sessions to help pupils understand real workplace expectations
– Helping pupils learn about routes into employment, including apprenticeships and training pathways
– Supporting pupils with additional needs by offering inclusive, flexible opportunities
Practical and Hands-On Opportunities
– Running hands-on workshops where pupils can engage in practical, work-related activities
– Offering short, supported workplace visits or tours
Supporting Work-Related Learning
– Providing in-school work experience, project-based tasks or employer-led challenges
– Offering mock interviews
– Supporting pupils to understand workplace behaviour, routines and expectations
Ongoing Partnership
