Bowman Friends & Family (BFF) has six members with two co-chairs: Karen Wesley and Amy Large.
We run fundraisers throughout the year (scroll down the page for more details) and meet up online monthly.

May 2026
Bikes and helmets for the pupils!
We are proud to announce that following our fundraising efforts this year (Christmas Fair, Summer Fete and Easter Raffle), we have been able to raise an incredible £1,600, enabling the purchase of 16 bicycles and 10 helmets for Bowman Academy.
The bikes are being enjoyed daily as part of reward activities, PE lessons and Outdoor Education, providing valuable opportunities to develop confidence, independence and physical wellbeing.
Thank you to all our Bowman Friends and Families volunteers for your continued support and commitment to enriching opportunities for our students.
March 2026
In March, Bowman Friends and Families hosted our Big Easter Raffle, bringing together 20 fantastic prizes made possible through generous donations from our local community.
Thanks to the wonderful support of both students’ and staff’s families and friends, we proudly raised £214 to help fund outdoor resources for our pupils.
Christmas Fair 2025
Thank you to everyone that came to our first Christmas Fair on Friday 12th December! We raised a brilliant £618.35, which will go towards improving our outdoor areas at school.
We had lots of small business stalls, our popular raffle and teddy bear stall, and a coffee van! We also had a visit from Santa himself, kindly supported by the ‘Shepshed Lions Club’. We hope you had a great time at the fair.
Summer Fete 2025
We had an incredible time celebrating the end of our first year at Bowman with our first ever Annual Summer Fete on Friday 4th July!
The event was enjoyed by pupils and their families, as well as the public, raising a whopping £625.96!
We had everything from ‘hook-a-duck’, to a mini race track, face-painting and a bouncy disco dome. Mr Ellis even got soaked in the stocks!
The monies raised will go directly to buying a ‘Snack Shack’ for break times, as well as other resources for our pupils.
It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves together after all their hard work this year.

Coffee and Chat Afternoon
We had a lovely time at our Bowman Friends and Family
Coffee and Chat afternoon! One of the parents commented how it was really nice to be able to talk about their
experiences in a group who understood and had no
judgement. It was also useful to share tips about local after school and holiday clubs.
We’ll be running more Coffee and Chat events in the future
if you would like to come along.

BIG Easter Raffle
Our BIG Easter Raffle was a great success! Congratulations to all our winners – they all know who they are.
A big thank you to everyone for their hard work in organising so many donated prizes. Also thanks to you all for buying so many tickets, we raised a huge £380!
This money will go towards buying a ‘Snack Shack’ for the playground.
